DADU: Notorious dacoit Jafar Kerio, with Rupees one million head money was shot dead in encounter with police near Mehar town and in another police encounter notorious dacoit Azam Machhi was injured and arrested by Sita road police near Sita Road town.
SSP Dadu Shabir Ahmed Sethar at press conference said said first encounter was between gang of notorious dacoit, Jafar Kerio and Mehar police near Mehar town. Mehar police on information, encircled area very close to Mehar bypass and asked dacoits to surrender but they refused and challenged police. In encounter Jafar Kerio was killed and his two accomplices managed to escape. Police seized 7mm rifle and 50 bullets. Jafar Kerio was wanted in 40 heinous type cases in various districts of Sindh.
He said in other encounter, police arrested Azoo Machhi after exchange fire at Katcho area near Sita road late Wednesday evening and recovered a rifle and 100 bullets.
