ISLAMABAD – Local court of Islamabad has issued notice to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in connection with Rs 30 billion defamation case filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Tareen against him.
The court took up for hearing Rs 30 billion defamation case filed by Tareen on Friday. Sikandar Bashir counsel for Jahangir Tareen said that the chief minister had levelled baseless allegations that his client had got written off loans running into millions of rupees.
Notices were sent to the Punjab chief minister under section 8 but he did not tender apology. The court while issuing notice to the chief minister for November 12 has sought reply from him.
